We are extremely excited to announce that our Level 5 Event Management Diploma is now accredited by The Institute of Event Management – an institute that represents and supports professionals working in events, setting benchmarks for quality and ethics within the industry.
This is a major milestone for Event Crowd and our students. Education providers like us can only have one official accreditation status from an institute. For a long time, Event Crowd have been working with experts and focus groups to refine the curriculum and assessment to meet the industry standards to gain accreditation.
There were previously opportunities to gain accreditation from institutes that did not specialise in Event Management, but it was crucial for Event Crowd to gain accreditation from an institute directly within the industry.
By offering an event management course accredited by the IEM, we ensure that anyone looking for a robust course in event management can trust us to deliver the training materials that meet industry standards.
What Does Accreditation Mean?
‘Accreditation is the official certification that an education provider has met standards set by external regulators.’
In simpler terms, it means the education at Event Crowd is being overseen by an external and independent third-party organisation. It ensures that every student receives the high-quality learning experience we promise.

The work doesn’t stop here; we look forward to continuing our partnership with the IEM as the industry changes, which will ensure our education offering continues to be as strong as it possibly can be. Prior to gaining accreditation, Event Crowd had held a recognition status from the IEM since May 2024, which was in the works for a long time. With a strong criteria that only universities had passed before, we became the first non-university programme to gain this recognition.
While gaining recognition was an important first step, it confirmed that our course aligns with the principles and values of the industry body. This accreditation is about validation; it means that every part of our learning experience, from course content to student outcomes and assessments, has been reviewed and approved by the only institute in the UK that sets the standards for event management education.
By studying a diploma offering accreditation status from an institute within the field, it signals that our graduates have studied a course built and assessed against real industry expectations, not just academic theory. It allows employers to trust that our graduates are ready to jump into the working world of events, showing their drive to not only improve their skills, but to position themselves as credible, forward-thinking event professionals.

This achievement solidifies Event Crowd’s position as the pioneer in online education within events: accessible enough for those breaking into the industry, but robust enough to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with long-established academic routes. ‘In 2020, I foresaw that my world of events would have a skills gap of new professionals entering the industry. Throughout that time over 100,000 professionals left the industry due to COVID-19 and universities, although still operating, my understanding was that a lot of the materials were outdated and focused on theory based skills. I knew this would create a skills gap among those looking to enter events.
Then my vision, Event Crowd, was born. A vision to create a new pathway into events – one that goes against the grain, offering expert-led education for people who want to break into the industry without giving up their current job or income, and at a more accessible price point for any schedule.
To now, being able to offer an accreditation on our Level 5 that we launched last June, makes me so incredibly proud of my vision and team that has made this all possible. Not to mention past students that have trusted us with their education and put in the effort to get their careers where they are today.
The next few months are going to be an exciting time at Event Crowd HQ; more students landing roles in events, starting their own event’s business or progressing even further into the events world. It truly is the most exciting industry on the planet and I’m so thrilled to be a part of our student’s journey’
