        The course covers everything events from event fundamentals, planning, marketing, operations & delivery to industry spotlights and deep dives into real-life case studies. Gain both the practical and theoretical knowledge needed to kick start your events career.
        Learn through pre-recorded studio lectures taught by our 40+ experts, consolidate your understanding through industry standard templates & learning resources, end of module assessments and a final project assignment.

        Throughout the course you’ll be assessed through a number of useful, relevant assessments that will be beneficial to the your learning. These will come in the form of tasks, quizzes and the creation of relevant industry documents. These assessments will count towards your final graded project. All details of your project will be shared with you at the start of your Event Crowd Diploma so all learning can be digested in respect of your assessment.

        Through your student portal you have access to our specifically curated jobs board where you can apply for the latest jobs, placements and volunteering opportunities within the world of events. In addition, you may be offered a range of work experiences throughout your time with us and we are happy to provide references on request too.

        Yes! We are a Totum Pro student provider, which is the new NUS student discount scheme. Student discount cards are just £14.99, and can be used at hundreds of locations.         When signed into the course portal, you can access your profile from the drop down menu in the top right hand corner. Your most recent module test grades will be posted there. Your final diploma grade and feedback will also be available to you there after it has been marked.

        Your final project is a working portfolio, all requirements for your final project will be explained to you when you reach the module at the end of the course.

        Your final diploma grade is made up of two parts: your test score, and your final project assessment (FPA) score. End of Module Tests are pass/fail quiz questions marked out of 15. Assessments are coursework based and are marked by our academic team. You will have a mix of each type for each session on the course. Test scores are worth 30% of your programme grade, and your final project scores are worth 70% of your programme grade. You will submit your assessments for feedback, which you can then implement to make the work better. Those pieces of work will then be resubmitted as part of your Final Project Assessment. Your FPA will be submitted in full after you have completed all learning modules.

        End of Module Tests (30%) + FPA (70%) = Final Diploma Grade.

        Our course covers 6 core modules from event fundamentals to industry spotlights, planning to delivery and marketing to operations.

        Each module contains in-depth video sessions on topics relating to the core subject, relevant assignments, coursework, quizzes and an array of bonus content to further the student learning.

        Fundamentals Overview

        Only in the last few decades has an Events Education been acknowledged by the academic world, with qualifications for the industry cropping up in mainstream learning institutions.

        Expert Lectures: Foundations, Professional Wellbeing, Employability, CV Workshop (Optional), Interview Workshop, Political & Social Impact, Diversity.

        Module Objectives

        • Identify basic skills used by event managers
        • Have an overview of what constitutes a successful event
        • Recognise the importance of diversity in the industry
        • Recognise the importance of physical and emotional well-being at work
        • Know how to contact us if you have any questions

        Planning Overview

        An event of any size is a culmination of smaller decisions and actions, from how to distribute your budget, negotiating venue usage, contingency planning in your EMP and how much time to invest in your health and safety channels.

        Learning Hours: 22

        Expert Lectures: Event Safety, Multi-Agency Planning, Event Management Plan, Sustainability, Incident Response, Crisis Planning.

        Module Objectives

        • Have a clear understanding of what an event management plan (EMP) is and what should be included in the document
        • Recognise why the planning process is so important to event production
        • Understand how project planning and budgeting can define event success
        • Be able to research, and negotiate with venue suppliers and other vendors
        • Learn to produce a clear, detailed, and effective EMP
        • Understand critically important health and safety and identify the differences in a safe and unsafe event site
        • Identify basic skills of talent liaison, booking, and management
        • Know how to work cross-agency to get the best possible outcomes

        Marketing Overview

        The branding of an event can be the make-or-break of it’s success. This module will be the cornerstone of your understanding of how consumers relate to the story, background and personality of event brands.

        Expert Lectures: Branding, Brand Guidelines, Event Websites, Digital Visibility, Media & PR, Content Marketing.

        Module Objectives

        • Understand what branding is and how it applies to successful events
        • Identify basic skills needed to create a brand
        • Understand the creative and story-telling process behind event brands
        • Recognise the importance of your branding materials, such as photography, videography, and online presence 
        • Know what solutions there are to create a functioning website, and ensure traffic flows through it to give you the best opportunity to sell

        Delivery Overview

        Delivery is all about making decisions that are going to impact how efficiently your event runs, before the gates open. This module will show you how to manage the delivery portion of your events.

        Expert Lectures: Sales Management, Commercial & Stakeholders, Venues & Suppliers, Projects & Budgets, Creating Experiences, Immersive Experiences.

        Module Objectives

        • Gain an awareness of general event sales techniques and the customer journey
        • Understand how stakeholders and commercial factors will have an impact on your event across multiple areas
        • Be able to recognise the importance of working cohesively with different agencies
        • Have knowledge of the types of legislations required for different events including sustainability international standards
        • Appreciate each of the steps that should be taken to effectively review safety procedures of an event
        • Feel more comfortable with event safety in general, as well as with specific responses to structural incidents and how to respond to them

        Operations Overview

        Operations is arguably the most exciting part of the event industry; it is the time where you get to see a lot of your hard work pay off! This module will show you how to manage the actual operation of your event.

        Module Objectives

        • Have a clear understanding of how operations management teams run event sites
        • Comprehend the scale of a site management team remit and what they contribute to an event
        • Understand the significance of event control and how vital it is to have a strong communications plan
        • Be able to recognise the importance of planning and preparing for negative outcomes and how to deal with them if they arise
        • Have a strong understanding of what managing and operating a live event is like, and what tools you can use to do so
        • Appreciate each of the steps that should be taken to effectively review an event
        • Know how different types of ticketing infrastructure can impact your event, from customer experience to accessibility

        Spotlight Overview

        This module will expose you to a few of the main disciplines involved in events, to allow you to consider where you feel you would best fit and best thrive.

        Expert Lectures: Corporate Events, Hybrid Events, Mass Participation, Weddings, Festivals, Charity Events

        Module Objectives

        • Recognise how you should utilise what you have learnt in the previous modules for specific events
        • Have an insight into various sub-industries and the event journey from initial planning to execution within them
        • Appreciate the importance of feedback across all aspects of your event – staff, event attendees, clients, suppliers, contractors etc
        • Understand the possible journeys that can be taken to enter each sub-sector
        • Recognise that whilst all events are different, the basis of creating and building events can be adapted to suit as required

        Module Tests As You Go (30%)

        You’ll show your understanding by completing quizzes, coursework, activities, and tasks designed to assess your knowledge.

        One Final Project (70%)

        There are no exams to sit – each course module has a range of appropriate assessments aimed at developing your skillset, which support your final graded project.
